“The sea was the only place where I could stop thinking and just be at peace with nature.”
Sophia, an art student from Ukraine

Ibiza Flotilla trip 2024 and Greece Flotilla 2023.

I’m a fourth-year art student in Lviv, Ukraine, and right now my biggest passion is dancing. But that all started on a sailing trip in Greece in 2023, when Levi gave a bachata masterclass. A year later, I began dancing seriously, and it’s become an addiction.

I found out about the trips through my mom, who had been several times before. She took me on the second and third trips, and I’m already waiting for the fourth. Before my first trip, I was scared—being at sea was new and I worried about safety. But I stayed positive, and my fears didn’t come true.

One of my most vivid memories is just sitting and staring out at the sea, without any thoughts or worries—it was so peaceful. The people on the trips are creative and easy-going, drawn together by a love of adventure. I learned a lot about sailing and want to take more courses.

The trips were transformational for me—living closely with others pushed me to learn about myself. After each trip, I wanted more. I recommend it to friends because it's an experience you can’t get anywhere else. Being on the sea feels completely different—more vivid and real.

Now, I dream of sailing to the Azores and Asia. And I’m so grateful that my passion for dance, and so much more, came from those first sailing trips.
