"There was always trust between us: we had checked each other early on, and we had Sergy, whose input always saved the day. "

It was challenging. I came in as an inland skipper, but out on the ocean the waves were way bigger and the wind was much stronger. It was also my first time on a boat this big, and a big boat behaves quite differently from a small one. Still, I felt safe, basically always.
I learned a lot. We had a great team and we worked really well together, and I think we achieved exactly what we set out to do. There was always trust between us: we had checked each other early on, and we had Sergy, whose input always saved the day.
I went home with a lot of new knowledge.
What I loved most was the dinghy operation, because we got so much practice with it, and the night sailing. We could take everything from the theory lessons and review it in real conditions.
The repetition and the step by step learning curve made us confident to achieve the goal every day.
