What is this weekend about?

For the past 8 years, people have come to our sailing trips as strangers and left as friends, couples, or future crews. Now we bring this same energy on land — our annual FREE community weekend in Málaga, where people gather, connect, and build real friendships.

This event is for two groups:
  • people who already sailed with Elmár Sailing
  • people who are curious about sailing with us
For newcomers, it works as a soft entrance into the sailing lifestyle, a chance to meet the community, feel the vibe, and even try sailing for half a day.

The Plan

  • Half-day sailing experience
    Try sailing near the legendary Rock of Gibraltar.
    Perfect for newcomers who want to feel what sailing with Elmár Sailing is like.
  • Mountains adventure
    Via Ferrata or a scenic hike in the Málaga mountains. Nothing hard, just bring comfort pair of shoes.
  • Beach & sunset time
    Relax, swim, and enjoy the Mediterranean spring. Malaga region has very clean beaches and amazing nature.
  • Light Party Nights
    Dinners together, beach clubs, late night-drinks at bars or at our villa.

If you’ve sailed with us before, this is a reunion. If you’ve never sailed with Elmár Sailing, this is the easiest way to meet the community before joining a real sailing trip.

Try sailing with us

On Saturday we’ll go for a short sailing experience near Gibraltar.

This area is famous for:
  • Atlantic winds - sails up!
  • dolphins and whales
  • dramatic coastline
  • views of the Rock of Gibraltar
If you’ve never sailed before, this is the perfect moment to try.

No pressure. Just a taste of the experience.

Adventure in the Málaga mountains

On Sunday morning, we go into the mountains.

Options:
  • Via Ferrata (safe climbing route with cables)
  • Scenic hike with panoramic views

Nature, adventure, and time together outside the city.

Where you can stay
We recommend guests stay in a large house near Málaga where everyone can gather. We offer options; the costs will be shared between participants. The house will be our base for the weekend.

There we will:
  • have breakfasts
  • share dinners
  • meet before going out
  • enjoy time together
You can also stay in nearby apartments if you prefer.
These are the references. The villa choice will be a community decision once the exact number of participants is known.

The founder of "Elmár Sailing"


I’m a skipper with 8 years of experience and an RYA license earned in Ireland. I’ve sailed over 20,000 nautical miles across Europe, Asia, and the Americas, navigating seas and oceans worldwide.


I create soulful sailing adventures to share this way of life and show how extraordinary the world looks from a yacht. If you want to become a skipper too, I’m officially licensed to train and certify you.
