The Competent Crew certificate confirms you can be an active crew member on a yacht.
What you will learn:

- Handling sails
- Seamanship and rules
- Safety and responding to emergency
- Organizing life on board

Your License
Elmár Sailing School is an accredited organization by ISSA (International Sailing Schools Association). Complete the Competent Crew week with us and you receive a Yacht Crew licence issued by ISSA, signed off by your captain.
It is not a charter license. Skippering your own yacht needs the ISSA Inshore Skipper level, a different course that we also teach. Competent Crew is the step below it.

I am Sergy – Skipper, with 8 years of experience. I got a license in Ireland after passing the Royal Yacht Association (RYA) program. I am also an official
ISSA-certified sailing instructor and personally signs off on each guest's Competent Crew assessment.
Navigated 25 000+ nautical miles on yachts in the seas and Atlantic, Indian and Pacific oceans.
I live my life like you and organize soulful trips on seas and oceans in Europe, Asia, and America.
My goal is to open a world of a completely different and unique type of adventure as sailing is to as many people as possible. It happened to me 8 years ago, and now I want to show you how majestic the world can be from a yacht view.
If you want to become my colleague and become a skipper, I have an official permit to educate you and issue a license.
